Dr. Wei Yang is a professor of Epidemiology and Biostatistics at the University of Nevada, Reno, also serving as Senior Associate Dean and Executive Director of the Nevada Center for Surveys, Evaluation, and Statistics (CSES). His research focuses on public health surveillance, environmental epidemiology, and biostatistical methods in clinical and translational research. He is recognized for his contributions to health behavior surveillance systems in the US, including projects like BRFSS, YRBSS, and PRAMS. Prior to joining the University in 2007, he worked at the Nevada State Department of Health and Human Services, holding roles in occupational medicine and biostatistics.

Austen El-Osta is Director of the Self-Care Academic Research Unit (SCARU) at Imperial College London, Director & Trustee of the International Self-Care Foundation & Trustee of the Self-Care Forum. He is a fellow of WHO Collaborating Centre for Public Health Education & Training, the primary care theme lead for NIHR Health Technology Research Centre & General Manager of the Directorate of Public Health at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust. He sits on various expert groups & panels, including the WHO Expert Review Group on Self-Care Interventions for Health. He is editor of the Lifestyle Medicine Journal & an active member of the Lifestyle Medicine and Prevention Wider Network. Dr El-Osta is an emergent subject matter expert on self-care & the progenitor of the Self-Driven Healthcare movement. He is an Innovate UK Global Expert Mission (GEM) on Digital Health Technologies & sits on the Digital Health London Expert Panel on Evidence Generation for Digital Health Technologies.

Harold Komiskey, PhD, is a distinguished professor with tenure at the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine-Georgia Campus. He graduated from the University of Wisconsin in Madison with a PhD in Pharmacology, complemented by a minor in Medical Science/Physiology. He also holds an MS in Pharmacology from the same institution and a BS in Chemistry and Math from the University of Wisconsin, River Falls. Dr. Komiskey is an active member of the Society for Neuroscience, the Society of Toxicology, and the American Society for Pharmacology and Experimental Therapeutics.

Dr. Valerie Borum (she/her/hers) joined Toronto Metropolitan University as the Director of the School of Social Work in January 2020. She has experience as both a BSSW Program Director and an MSW Program Director. As a social work practitioner, she directed two programs, supervising social work and human service professionals serving persons with intersecting identities (e.g., disability, race/ethnicity, gender, deafness, etc.). Dr. Borum’s research and scholarship focus on the role of ethno-culture as a protective and promotive factor in health, mental health, and disabilities, with attention to populations of African descent. She studies the intersection of disabilities, deafness, and ethno-culture, with attention to Black/African American and Afro-Latinx/Black Hispanic families with deaf and hard-of-hearing children. She also studies the intersection of ‘whiteness’ and anti-Blackness/anti-Black racism. She incorporates Womanist and Afrocentric research, scholarship, and education (pedagogy). Dr. Borum completed her post-doctoral studies (e.g., focus on suicide and ethno-culture) at the University of Rochester, School of Medicine, Rochester, NY. Dr. Borum received her Ph.D. in Social Work from Howard University's School of Social Work and her MSW from Gallaudet University. She received the Ester Ottley Fellowship, a one-year internship for one female student who most exemplifies qualities of leadership and humanity while at Howard University. While studying at Gallaudet University for her Master’s in Social Work, all her instruction was in American Sign Language (ASL). She received her B.A. in Psychology with minors in Biology and Philosophy from Mundelein Women’s College at Loyola University, Chicago, IL. Dr. Borum isresearching advocacy and families of colour as a research collaborator/consultant with Laurent Clerc National Deaf Educational Research Center at Gallaudet University in Washington, D.C. Sheseeks external funding for her research, scholarship, and creative activities. Dr. Borum was born and raised in Chicago, Illinois, USA.

Dr. Karen Lynch-Frater serves as the Department Chair and Associate Professor of Nursing at Oakwood University in Huntsville, Alabama, USA. She holds a Ph.D., a Master of Education (M.A.Ed.), and is a Registered Nurse (RN). Additionally, she is recognized as a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA). With a robust background in nursing education, Dr. Lynch-Frater is dedicated to advancing nursing practice and education. Her leadership at Oakwood University emphasizes the integration of faith-based principles with academic excellence, preparing students to deliver compassionate and competent care.

Dr. Yamada is a Professor of Economics in the Department of Economics, Associate Faculty of Preventive Science Graduate Program, Graduate School of Arts and Sciences, and an Affiliated Professor, Institute for Global Health and Development, Peking University, China. Dr. Yamada was an Invited Research Scholar at Department of Community Health and Preventive Medicine, Hamamatsu University School of Medicine in Japan, was Research Scholar at Hosei Institute on Aging, Hosei University in Japan; and was a Researcher with the ASIA Health Policy Program, Stanford University. He was an Associate Faculty of Childhood Studies Graduate Program Graduate School of Arts and Sciences, Rutgers University, The State University of New Jersey, and a Faculty Fellow of Civic Engagement of Rutgers University, New Jersey, U.S.A. In addition, he was a former Chairperson of the Department of Economics, a Research Associate for the Center for Children and Childhood Studies at Rutgers University, the State University of New Jersey, USA. Prior to his current position at the Rutgers University, Dr. Yamada served as a health economist at the International Leadership Center on Longevity and Society in New York, as a representative of the Japan Economic Federation, as a health economics research associate of the NBER, as a member faculty of the Research Fellows of NBER, as a health economics adviser of the WHO, as a visiting research scholar of the University of Tsukuba (Japan), as a research associate of the Center for the Pacific Basin of the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco, as a Visiting Research Scholar of School of Health Economics and Management, Peking University, as an associate professor of Ritsumeikan University, Kyoto, Japan, as a faculty associate of the Walter Rand Institute in Rutgers University, and as an associate member in the Institute of Health, Health Care Policy, and Aging Research in Rutgers University.

Lucia Pannese is a passionate entrepreneur who established one of Europe’s leading and pioneering serious games companies, Milan-based imaginary, in 2004. With her background in mathematics and a very creative, multicultural mind, she acts as both CEO and Research Director and has published numerous international articles and papers. Her company, imaginary, is recognized internationally for its pioneering and innovative work, playing a key role in European Research. Since its foundation, imaginary has won and delivered a remarkable >30 European funded research projects and has received 15 awards for their work. Imaginary’s focus is on eHealth and specifically on tele-rehabilitation with their flagship product REHABILITY which offers physiotherapy and cognitive stimulation in the form of interactive games.

Leighton J. Reynolds has a doctorate in Psychoanalytic Studies (including modern psycho-analysis, neuroscience, and psychology), and he is a Certified Psychoanalyst. He lives and works in Southern California in the heart of wildfire country.

Dr. Korchmaros is Director of the University of Arizona’s Southwest Institute for Research on Women (SIROW). Since earning her doctoral degree in Social Psychology with a focus on quantitative research methods in 2003, Dr. Korchmaros has developed, implemented, evaluated, and provided training and technical assistance for multiple grant-funded research projects of importance to populations experiencing health disparities. Her research has focused on treatment models; reduction of risk behaviors; addressing health disparities; and system and policy improvement in such areas as sexual health, substance use and other chronic diseases, and justice-involvement. Dr. Korchmaros takes a research-to-practice focus, aiming to: • disseminate research findings in a timely manner using multiple mediums and outlets; • increase the extent to which practice is informed by research; and • encourage policy change and funding programs informed by current research and knowledge. She has produced peer-reviewed research briefs, trainings, papers, implementation tools, and presentations concerning accurate identification of service need within populations experiencing health disparities, effectively addressing such need, and health-related behavior change. Dr. Korchmaros also has extensive experience conducting and assisting others to conduct community tailored and responsive intervention and research. She has developed theoretically-based health-related behavior interventions for different communities and has informed the field about the particular influencing factors related to health-related behavior in particular communities. Finally, Dr. Korchmaros’ work has informed the field about the practice of implementing tailored and responsive intervention and research.

Dr. Irina Catrinel Crăciun is a health and development psychologist specializing in health communication, healthy ageing, and positive psychology. As head of HPI’s Digital Story Lab at the Department of Digital Global Public Health at Hasso Plattner Institute, she pioneers the use of digital storytelling to promote health and well-being. Her work bridges research, practice, and education, with the aim of reducing health inequalities and fostering healthy development for individuals, organizations, and communities worldwide. My motto: “Shaping healthier lives and communities through research, innovation, and storytelling.”

Céline Tiffon is a consultant medical writer and independent researcher and currently based in France. She has a background in biochemistry and cell biology and received a Ph.D. in tumor biology. She pursued postdoctoral research for 4 years in onco-hematology and toxicology. She also held the positions of clinical project manager and scientific officer and acquired knowledge and skills in clinical research, project management and data analysis. For almost 4 years, she has been working as remote medical writer at Indegene, a digital-first life sciences commercialization company with multiple locations including India and the United States. There, she has improved her writing skills, particularly in medical affairs and in several therapeutic areas.

Aly Vredenburgh is an author, researcher, and filmmaker whose work explores the systemic drivers of the youth mental health crisis, with emphasis on prevention, belonging, and institutional design. She is the author of Out of Focus (2024), which integrates sociological theory and public health research to challenge individual and therapy-only approaches to mental health. Aly founded The Belonging Lab, a nonprofit focused on community-based suicide prevention, and created Stay Café, a social innovation project studying how social spaces influence well-being. She also directs Crisis Generation, a documentary examining global mental health outcomes. Aly holds a B.A. in Sociology and a Master’s in Social Innovation from the University of San Diego, and her research has been presented internationally across public health and global health forums.

Dr. Francis Igbo has completed his DBA from Walden University, USA. Currently he is working as a full time entrepreneur, driving entrepreneurial awareness and change within the healthcare sector in Southern Africa. He is also driving the awareness of Cost-effectiveness in quality healthcare delivery, especially in the face of a National Health Insurance Scheme implementation in South Africa. He is involved in several diagnostic and research work in collaboration with University of Zimbabwe under the UZ-TARGET UMBRELLA PARTNERSHIP. He is currently the CEO of TARGET PATHOLOGY LABORATORIES.

Farah Ganjei Gron has a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science. She found her calling in 1996 when she attended an introductory talk on homeopathy by the world-renowned homeopath, Dr. Luc De Schepper, M.D. From that point on, she studied with him for 14 years and wrote her post-fellowship thesis in 2011 on her particular method of using homeopathy to help the children with a diagnosis of autism. In 2009, Dr. De Schepper asked her to became his successor when he retired. In the past 20 years, she has been helping the general population and children on the autism spectrum and others with special needs.

Pamela Rowe, MA, CCC-SLP, is the Clinical Director of Pamela Rowe, MA, CCC-SLP, LLC, an Adult and Pediatric Therapy Practice with seven Florida locations. Dr. Ade Mutiara, a seasoned professional in the field of Occupational Health and Medicine, brings a wealth of expertise and experience to the table. With educational milestones including a Medical Doctor degree from Universitas Indonesia in 1993 and subsequent achievements such as a Magister of Occupational Medicine in 2013 and Occupational Medicine Specialty in 2021, Dr. Mutiara has demonstrated a commitment to continuous learning and professional development. Currently pursuing a doctoral degree at the Faculty of Medicine in Universitas Indonesia, her research focuses on informal workers as the major population in Indonesia. In her occupational health experience history, Dr. Mutiara has held key roles, including her current position as the Lead of Occupational Health and Medicine in the Special Task Force for Upstream Oil and Gas in Indonesia since 2017. Noteworthy roles include serving as the Chief Medical Officer in a few Oil and Gas Companies such as British Petroleum and Chevron in Indonesia. Her passion is to enhance the occupational health implementation to leverage the worker’s productivity through a healthy lifestyle and maintaining the ensure the workers are always fit for their job. Dr. Mutiara has made significant contributions to the field through various publications, including stress-related diseases, and the workplace adjustments during the COVID-19 pandemic. Her involvement as a consultant for the Health Ministry of Indonesia and her advisory role in occupational health organizations highlight his dedication to advancing the field. As Secretary of ICSOEM (International Component Society of Occupational and Environmental Medicine) and the Scientific Committee of Occupational Medicine of ICOH (International Commission of Occupational Health), Dr. Ade Mutiara is actively shaping the future of Occupational Health and Medicine.

Dr. Paul Andrew Bourne is a multi-talented individual with expertise in research, social epidemiology, health demography, applied statistics, leadership, public affairs commentary, and public speaking. He has published over 300 scholarly papers, including a study on domestic violence against Jamaican women during the COVID-19 pandemic, which is hosted on the World Health Organization website. He has attended numerous conferences and actively participated in community activities and media presentations. In 2019, he received recognition for an outstanding poster presentation at the Ministry of Health and Wellness Annual National Health Research Conference. Dr. Bourne is a member of prestigious organisations, including the SAS Eminent Fellow Membership, the Scholars Academic and Scientific Society, and the Jamaica Statistical Society. He served as the Director of Institutional Research and Honours Society Coordinator at Northern Caribbean University. Currently, Dr Bourne is the managing director at Socio-Mecdical Research Institute.

Ugomma Nwadinigwe is a public health researcher and third-year PhD student at the University of Bradford. With a background in clinical practice, health economics, and policy, her research focuses on developing interventions to improve breast screening uptake, early detection and reduce health inequalities. She has demonstrated leadership and advocacy, through her role as the Postgraduate Research Representative for the Faculty of Health Studies and contributions to the University’s Athena Swan initiative, promoting equality, diversity, and inclusion. Her work reflects a commitment to translating research into real-world public health impact and she is particularly interested in fostering collaboration across academia, health agencies, and the biotech sector.

Dr. Dima Tsanova, MD, PhD, is a physician specializing in Social Medicine and Communal Hygiene. She currently serves as an Associate Professor at the Faculty of Public Health, Medical University – Pleven.Her research focuses on health demographic analysis and forecasting at the regional level, public health protection, state health control, and the epidemiology of communicable and non-communicable diseases. She is also actively engaged in monitoring environmental factors and other activities significant to public health. Dr. Tsanova is a member of several professional organizations, including the Bulgarian Medical Association, Union of Scientists in Bulgaria, EUPHA, ASPHER, FPH-SEE, and the International Hospital Federation.

Jasmine Velasquez is a Muscogee (Creek), Turtle Mountain Band of Chippewa, and Mexican scholar whose interwoven ancestral lineages guide her commitment to justice and culturally grounded healthcare. She holds degrees in Kinesiology, Athletic Training, and Education, and previously developed a nationally recognized Sports Medicine Pathway for youth. Currently completing her PhD in Indigenous Health at the University of North Dakota, her research focuses on Indigenous pediatric athletes and culturally safe models of care. Jasmine co-founded Native Athletic Trainers and advocates for equitable sideline healthcare for Indigenous children. Her leadership has been recognized through multiple regional and national awards.

Chloe Reid is a BSc Biomedical science graduate and current third year MBBS student with strong interests in global health, health inequalities and non-communicable disease prevention in high disparity settings. Her BSc academic work was conducted on stroke and vascular dementia prevention. Chloe’s field work was conducted in collaboration between Global Vision International and Diabetes Fiji focusing on social determinant of health, particularly health education and the influence on health outcomes from diabetes.

Dr. Ermek Degembaeva has been residing in Turkey for the past 11 years. Since 2019, she has been working at the American Hospital, a Mayo Clinic Care Network member, serving as the CIS Region Senior Specialist in the International Patients Program, where she supports global healthcare collaboration and patient care coordination.

Dr Ramlackhansingh currently works part time as Senior Lecturer Public Health Medicine at Kent and Medway Medical School and as Public Health Doctor at Medway Council

Maryam Janmohamed is a 5th year medical student studying at UCL. She recently completed an intercalated BSc in Global health, achieving a first class honours. Her interests include health education within the community as well as preventative strategies within the geriatric population, in order to reduce hospitalisation. She plans to pursue a career in Family medicine with a focus on preventative medicine.

Nishta Gangeddula is an aspiring physician working as Senior Patient Navigator with Link Health. She earned a B.S. in Behavioral Neuroscience with minors in Spanish and Political Science. Her experience helping patients access federal benefit programs has shaped her understanding of public preventive health and her goal of serving patients both clinically and within broader communities.

Charlotte Spring is a fifth-year medical student at Brighton and Sussex Medical School and previously completed an intercalated BSc in Global Health at the University of Bristol. Her academic interests include the impacts of climate change on health, preventable disease, and the development of sustainable health care systems.
